With the development of technology, lithium batteryApplications in various industries are becoming more and more extensive, ranging from electronic watches and mobile phones to laptops and automobiles. However, in the process of using lithium batteries, we will also encounter some safety hazards, such as: the explosion of the lithium battery on the mobile phone, or because we use it improperly, or the quality of the lithium battery itself is substandard. Lithium batteries must pass safety tests such as overcharge, short circuit, needle stick, squeeze, and heavy object impact. If the lithium battery does not catch fire or explode, it means that such a lithium battery is a qualified product. The key is how to detect whether the lithium battery reaches the specified safety index?
The following can be detected in three ways:Method 1: vigorously squeeze first place the fully charged battery on the test plane of the testing machine, then apply a 13 + 1KN squeezing force with a hydraulic cylinder, and finally squeeze the battery by a flat steel rod with a diameter of 32mm. If the lithium battery can withstand the maximum pressure, and there is no explosion or fire, then the lithium battery product is qualified.
Method 2: After the heavy object impacts and fully charges the battery to be tested, place it on the test plane of the testing machine, place the steel column with a diameter of 15.8mm vertically at the center of the battery, and freely drop the heavy object weighing 9.1kg from the height of 610mm On the steel column above the battery. The battery does not have to fire or explode.
Method 3: Overcharge test The so-called overcharge test is actually to test whether the internal of the lithium battery is stable. The method is very simple. First, fully charge the battery with 1C, and then perform the overcharge test according to 3C overcharge 10V. It stabilizes for a period of time when it rises to a certain voltage, and the battery voltage rises rapidly when approaching a certain time. When it rises to a certain limit, the battery cap is pulled off and the voltage drops to 0V. In this process, the lithium battery did not explode and catch fire, which means that the lithium battery is a qualified product.
